It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 13th European Symposium on Biopolymers (ESBP2027), taking place in Belgrade, Serbia – a vibrant meeting point for science, innovation, and collaboration.

Since its launch in Münster in 2000, ESBP has grown into a leading European platform advancing biopolymer science, biotechnology, and sustainable materials innovation. ESBP2027 continues this tradition by bringing together experts from biotechnology, synthetic biology, materials science, engineering, and industrial processing to explore the latest scientific advances and technological developments shaping the future of biopolymers and the circular bioeconomy.

The symposium programme will be structured around these topics:

A special highlight of this year’s symposium will be the EIC Biopolymer Acceleration Track Forum, organized within the EIC Circular Bioplastics Portfolio. This forum will feature advances in nature-inspired materials, sustainable food packaging, agricultural films, and emerging bio-based technologies, creating unique opportunities for networking, collaboration, and innovation across Europe’s rapidly growing biopolymer ecosystem.
