Sustainability

ESBP 2027, organized by Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, at Hotel Mona Plaza, will be guided by sustainable event principles to ensure both scientific excellence and environmental responsibility. The Symposium will prioritize resource efficiency, including digital solutions to reduce paper use, optimized energy consumption, and careful waste management.
Local engagement will be central to the event: catering and hospitality services will highlight seasonal products and regional suppliers, supporting the local economy while reducing the carbon footprint of transport. The venue itself, Hotel Mona Plaza, is committed to modern sustainability standards, offering energy‑efficient infrastructure and eco‑friendly practices.
Social sustainability will be equally important, with initiatives designed to foster inclusivity, accessibility, and opportunities for young scientists. Networking formats and community outreach will ensure that the congress impact extends beyond the scientific program, strengthening Belgrade’s role as a responsible host city.
By integrating sustainability into every stage of planning and delivery, ESBP 2027 will not only advance biopolymer science but also set a benchmark for environmentally and socially conscious international events in Southeast Europe.
